Journey through Media Studies

 For my project, my group and I decided on the genre of Comedy/ Drama. We are currently planning out and Have a few details that we know for sure we want to and in our clip. My group members include me, Shaloh, Dellroy and Nicole. All of my group members have excellent talent when it comes to filming, and brainstorming together. Dellroy and Shaloh have great brain storming skills, and are passionate about their ideas and plans. Nicole, has great editing skills and just so happen to have a few film editing apps on her Ipad. Over all, I believe my group had all the aspects to make this project come to life. :)

    In the extract I chose to watch from "Wednesday", the use of camera angles, editing, mise-en-scene, and sound all lay a role in creating meaning and elevate the emotions in this film. This clip also makes use of the characters and the wardrobe to signify and heighten their personalities, over all expressing the      To begin, throughout the first couple of scenes, one can see the use of close up and POV shot is used to signify Wednesday's emotions, explaining that her very dull mood is caused by her dis- approval of her parents decision to send her away to boarding school. This especially can be seen when the shot switches between a two-shot between Wednesday and her parents. During this scene you can really see how Wednesdays personality comes into play with her short and witty answers and how she is significantly different from her parents and don't approve of their views.  For the following scene, upon arrival to the school the gloomy setting an...

 Today I've learned that a story board is a representation of how a story/movie will unfold. A few things that I've learned, and notice while creating my own storyboard, is that the little representation represent each shot, and the more detail you use, the more the story comes to life. Although this assignment  was fairly simple, there was a few trials that I noticed. For example, I am not the best artist, and trying to draw and show the aspect of every angle, including the lighting as well, was a bit hard. Could only hope that if someone looks at my paper, the story could be seen.
