Inspiration Behind my Group Idea's

What inspired me to choose this genre and story line is the various movies I've seen displaying the realities of high school. For instance, the movie "The edge of Seventeen", was a big inspiration for this genre and theme. The edge of Seventeen displays the hardships of being an awkward 17-year-old in Junior year, which many of us can relate to. It captures all the trials and tribulations and the awkward comedy of it all and creates a relatable situation that teenagers these days can laugh about, and not stress over it. The beginning of the film displays the awkward/ loser girl, being compared to her d more popular brother. I proposed the Idea to my group, and we got started on planning. I decided that the title of the movie should be called "Monday." Given that Monday is typically the worst day of the week, and everyone dreads it. People have to go back to school or work, after a long a waited weekend. I felt like it was perfect for the theme. My group and I originally were planning on doing a romance film, an enemies to lovers' type of thing. But because none of us could really relate to that genre/them, we collectively decided to change it to what I've stated above. One of the key scenes that we plan on recreating is from an episode in euphoria, which captures the main character Rue, walking in the hallway while everyone else is walking in the opposite direction. This scene is shot in shallow focus, and I felt like it was a perfect detail to add to the film.

Nicole suggested that it displays how everyone is going in their own lane/path and doesn't care about our main character Camila. We all have experience watching films in the same genre and already have ideas about what to do. We will act out a scenario that many students may relate to in a high school setting in order to connect with our classmates. In the beginning of many films, such as Twilight, a lonely new student is introduced to a mysterious kid whose eyes appear to look right into her soul. The audience may be captivated by this genre. Additionally, it motivates us because one of us struggles with meeting others in a school atmosphere because they have different lives and secrets. Drama is one of the numerous genres in this film. Clueless is a movie about high school that is relevant.. Cher, a prominent figure in society, is the subject. She sees herself as the main character and is well-liked by her classmates. In order to show the audience how many emotions and situations could occur when pupils are at school, we plan to present them with two alternative perspectives on reality high. Everyone has their own issue, depending on who they are. When it comes to props, though, we must discuss who can use them and what will be most effective for the film. In essence, the outfits will be what we often wear to high school. The classroom and the halls are examples of places.

Blog Post Critiques

Today I critiqued Dellroy's and Nicole's Blog post on camera angles/shots. Dellroy and his partner accurately executed the camera angles and shots to the best of their abilities. Some of the angles give a comedic effect, and really give the audience a good laugh. Each shot accurately displays its title, despite there being no description for the shots, it was over all still a great assignment. Personally, I would give them A plus. The post was great and could be used for future reference as well, if they ever want to look back on it and review what they learned prior. One thing I would change about the blog post is the layout of it. I believe they have potential, and with a little more work they can achieve more with their camera skills. One particular Camera shot I believe they accurately demonstrated is over the shoulder. The shot displays at an angle over Nicole's shoulder, while precisely catching a view of what the foreground and background looks like. This shot by f...

First Day Filiming

Our fist day filming was a bit challenging to say the least. It actually took us a quite a while to film and it made us a little behind with our work. Even though we had a few obstacles, we pushed through and got 41 seconds done out of  the 1:51 that is required. These two clips consist of our production "Company"/name, and our Movie title. A lot of people have questioned us on the title of the movie, and it really has do with Monday being the day of the week that no one likes and Camila is considered the character that no one likes nor care for.  Our hallway scene probably was the scene that took us the longest to film but we thought this scene was imperative when capturing the emotion we wanted to evoke. We put this scene in to show the uniformity of the students in comparison to our character Camila who is seen as the outcast. This scene was kind of a filler; it was used to introduce Camila but also put in some of the credits.
