Peer Review

For this blogpost I will be reviewing my fellow peers film intros.

Movie clip 1: 5 Letters.

This movie clip was very interesting. From the details in lighting to the details in the transitions and character can easily be scene as well thought out and put together. The dim lighting throughout this film gave meaning to the plot as well, adding to the dark and mysterious demeanor. The movie was enjoyable and a bit comedic at some moments. Over all if i were to rate this clip I would give it a 9 out of 10 simply because how well the directors of this film established and portrayed their theme throughout the clip. The only critics I would have on this film is simply the volume and little tweak to the lighting as well. The volume was a bit low at times and the lighting was almost a bit too dark at some points. Ultimately, it was a very entertaining clip.

Movie clip 2:  Sugar Rush

When regarding using the film elements that we discussed in this class, I personally believe that the group that created this film accurately portrayed the film elements the best out of all the movie clips I have seen so far. From the establishing shot to the minor details in the interview really made this film enjoyable. Details such as the focus onto one of the characters hands really created almost a comedic effect and was one of the highlights in this film. The only critic I had on this film is that although it was enjoyable, it was a bit hard to follow the plot. For instance, it was established early on that a robbery at a gas station had taken place, and they were interviewing locals who had witnessed the crime go on. That was easy to understand; the hard part was trying figure out where the film was going next. After the film was finished, I was informed that it was supposed to be a mocumentary. After receiving that information a lot of the clips, including the ending made a bit more sense. over all, I would rate this movie clip a 8 out of 10.

Movie clip 3: Sunday

This film was by far one of the more interesting films. The elements such as lighting, camera movements and acting made this film very interesting. There was even a few moments where I was genuinely intrigued and even had a jump scare. This film portrayed all the elements of a horror/mystery movie and honestly gets a 10/10 regarding plot and camera movements. A few critics I would have is the lighting, and the volume. The sound was a bit inaudible at times and it made it sort of difficult to understand what the character was saying. The lighting was a bit too dimmed ad it made it sort of hard to actually see the character at certain points in the film. But even with these minor faults, the film was still a great film and gets a 9 out of 10.

Movie clip 4: Up The Score

Out of all the films I believe that this film used the most intricate camera angles. The angles were used correctly and the the sound was clear throughout the film.

Blog Post Critiques

Today I critiqued Dellroy's and Nicole's Blog post on camera angles/shots. Dellroy and his partner accurately executed the camera angles and shots to the best of their abilities. Some of the angles give a comedic effect, and really give the audience a good laugh. Each shot accurately displays its title, despite there being no description for the shots, it was over all still a great assignment. Personally, I would give them A plus. The post was great and could be used for future reference as well, if they ever want to look back on it and review what they learned prior. One thing I would change about the blog post is the layout of it. I believe they have potential, and with a little more work they can achieve more with their camera skills. One particular Camera shot I believe they accurately demonstrated is over the shoulder. The shot displays at an angle over Nicole's shoulder, while precisely catching a view of what the foreground and background looks like. This shot by f...

First Day Filiming

Our fist day filming was a bit challenging to say the least. It actually took us a quite a while to film and it made us a little behind with our work. Even though we had a few obstacles, we pushed through and got 41 seconds done out of  the 1:51 that is required. These two clips consist of our production "Company"/name, and our Movie title. A lot of people have questioned us on the title of the movie, and it really has do with Monday being the day of the week that no one likes and Camila is considered the character that no one likes nor care for.  Our hallway scene probably was the scene that took us the longest to film but we thought this scene was imperative when capturing the emotion we wanted to evoke. We put this scene in to show the uniformity of the students in comparison to our character Camila who is seen as the outcast. This scene was kind of a filler; it was used to introduce Camila but also put in some of the credits.
