FINAL CCR

SAMPLE EXAM

In this extract, "Agent Karter", the film makers used the elements of sound, camera angles and movements to evoke an eerie and mischievous feeling  for the audience. The use of mise-en-scene is also used to emphasize the imbalance of and sound to emphasize the key movements in the film.           A few of the scenes in this clip directly display the aspect of mise en scene/lighting used to creating meaning and evoke a certain emotion. One of the emotions include dominance created by the back lighting that is used. By using the back lighting, its puts a highlight on one of the antagonist in the film, displaying his place amongst the rest, especially with Peggy considering that she is the only woman at her place of work. Peggy is constantly belittled and this is shown by the use of lowkey lighting whenever the antagonist is speaking to her. The red color lighting is also used too display mischievous behavior, ...

MISE EN SCENE

In our film the, the mise en scene played an important role in creating a direct contrast between the two main characters. For instance, we decided to keep Camilla in her usual school uniform and Chad in a more athletic outfit, just to further establish the characters personalities. I notice that most people match their outfits with their personalities so we decided to incorporate it in this film as well. In regards to the scenery we didn't do much to it considering that the film took place at our school.

SOUND

When our peers were viewing our video, I noticed a few comments on how our sound was a bit off. For instance, they talked about how the audio for our voice overs were a bit too low and how they can hardly hear it. It was also staticky and kind of hard to be interpreted and it made us realized that we needed to record our audios in a room that had less open space, so the sound doesn't eco off of the wall, and we needed to enunciate our words a lot more clearly. Now looking back on the correction that we made, there are still things I wish we could've done better. For instance, I was we added more and clearer sound to our clips. We also added music which I believe went great with our clip. The music changed during different turning points in the film, and further helped establish our theme.

Main characters.

In our film we only have 3 characters. 3 of the 2 include Camilla and Chad who are our main characters and the two people we would be focusing on throughout the film. We have a few background characters but they're not really important. They we're basically used to either fill up blank space in the camera, or to show a direct contrast between the main character Camilla, and her fellow peers. Although, one background character in particular was used to introduce the turning point in the film, or to introduce something that the two main characters need to overcome. A conflict, in simpler terms. For our theme, these characters help provide a visual interpretation of such theme and further allow us to execute our storyline.

Lighting and Color

When we were filming, we notice a couple of things regarding lighting and color. For instance, every time we tried to film a shot towards the light (For example a window) the camera quality would get blurred or even completely block out our character that is being filmed. We thought just changing the position of the camera would help, but when we noticed that even when doing our film would still be dulled our, we knew we had to make a few adjustments to our setting.  Because a lot of the lighting in the area that we were filming was impossible to change, we decided to change our characters clothing. We changed the outfit to dark clothing, so that it'd be a direct contrast to the natural lighting that was being used. This was just a theory we had, and honestly, it worked to a certain extent. We didn't have much materials and Natural lighting is a bit difficult to control. Ultimately, i believe that we still did a good job adjusting the camera to alter the lighting to the best of...

Peer Review

For this blogpost I will be reviewing my fellow peers film intros. Movie clip 1: 5 Letters. This movie clip was very interesting. From the details in lighting to the details in the transitions and character can easily be scene as well thought out and put together. The dim lighting throughout this film gave meaning to the plot as well, adding to the dark and mysterious demeanor. The movie was enjoyable and a bit comedic at some moments. Over all if i were to rate this clip I would give it a 9 out of 10 simply because how well the directors of this film established and portrayed their theme throughout the clip. The only critics I would have on this film is simply the volume and little tweak to the lighting as well. The volume was a bit low at times and the lighting was almost a bit too dark at some points. Ultimately, it was a very entertaining clip. Movie clip 2:   Sugar Rush When regarding using the film elements that we discussed in this class, I personally believe that...
